I will not resign as pdp chairman-adamant sheriff insists

Despite widespread criticism over his emergence as Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Adamant Ali Modu Sheriff on Monday, said he would not succumb to the widespread calls by some members of the party that he should resign his position.
The former governor of Borno state rather pleaded with aggrieved members of the party to shield their swords and work with him towards repositioning the party for a greater height.
Shortly after he formally took over as the chairman of the party, Sheriff promised that he would work with all relevant organs of the party to ensure that the party conduct a credible congress and convention that would be a pride to all Nigerians.
According to him, his focus now is to ensure that the party was firmly put in the hands of the owners—the people at the grassroots, noting that the era of a few people dictating how the party should be run is over.
He acknowledged that the time ahead is testy but promised that he would deploy all resources at his disposal to ensure that all members of the party especially founding fathers, are brought back to the fold to make the party great again.
“The time ahead is certainly not going to be easy. We are aware of the high expectations from Nigerians for us to give the part a new focus. Our party is a party that has an avalanche of qualified people who can proffer solution to our problems. We accepted to serve not because we are the best, but because we have been identified to be capable of doing the task ahead.
“I will carry everybody along. I have come to form a partnership with party men and women. The wrangling that is going on is normal but we will overcome. I will contact everybody that matters in the party because we have the same goal which is rebuilding the party to its enviable height” he said.
Sheriff Still Under Investigation – EFCC
Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC has said the new Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ali Modu Sheriff, is still under investigation for alleged corruption.
Sheriff was arrested by the commission in June last year for alleged embezzlement of public funds during his eight years as governor of Borno State but was granted bail.

senate threatens to clean up abuja area council over dirty city

The Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory, has given the Area Councils in the Federal Capital Territory 21 day’s ultimatum to clean up parks, markets and the entire FCT or face sanction. According to the Chairman of the Committee, Dino Melaye (APC Kogi West), FCYT was too dirty to be the seat of power and a capital city. He stated that no state capital around the world was as dirty as the FCT. He said: “This committee is giving you three weeks to clean up the metropolis; the environmental sanitation in the FCT, the area councils especially AMAC is poor. “You see heaps of rubbish on the road side; Abuja is the pride of Africa, we cannot let this continue. After three weeks, if you don’t clean up the FCT, we will clean you up: you cannot be collecting revenue from the market and the market will be very dirty.   “You go to our parks and it is an eyesore; two weeks you won’t clean the parks and you are generating money from that park and when they ask, you will say there is no money. “We are very serious about cleaning up the city within three weeks, clean up Abuja, especially the satellite towns”.

sanusi criticised Buhari's Naira policy

Former Governor of Nigeria’s Central Bank Lamido Sanusi has said the government should end its policy of trying to maintain the value of the currency, the naira. Mr Sanusi said the drawbacks of the policy “far outweigh its dubious benefits”, the Financial Times reports. President Muhammadu Buhari told the BBC last week that he was not convinced of the need to “murder” the naira. The falling oil price has put pressure on his currency policy. The authorities are keeping the official naira rate at around 200 to the US dollar, but the black market rate is closer to 300. “The government does not have the reserves to keep the exchange rate at its official level in the market,” Mr Sanusi told the Financial Times. The policy has “never worked” wherever it has been tried, he added. But Mr Buhari told the BBC that he is yet to be convinced that he should allow the currency to be devalued. In an effort to sustain the policy, the government has imposed currency restrictions, and halted the importation of certain goods in order to stop dollars leaving the country. Mr Sanusi was the central bank governor from 2009 to 2014, when he was suspended by then-President Goodluck Jonathan following a row over corruption in the oil sector.

The determination of a man is like the strength of a god

The determination of a man is like a strength of a god.
In my perspective being determined on doing something is when you insist and plan on never giving up on what you want to do no matter the trouble or distress you face on your way to what you want to get and the higher your determination the more strength you put on so as not to lose what you want to get and you will get stronger than what you expected.
He will get so strong like a god because of his determination and he will never lose. Thanks for reading.

family is not about blood its about who is willing to hold your hand when you need it the most

According to the oxford dictionary a family can be defined as a group of people who live together or one that is similar to one that is related by blood, marriage, law or custom or members of ones intimate social group.                                                                                                                                               According to my view family might not be someone related to you by blood but someone you can lean on in time of trouble or when in need of help but nowadays its not always like that those that you expect to help you as a family will not be there to help you at a very crucial time but it might just be a friend that will help you out of your mess, those related to you by blood will not be of any help to you so they cannot be called family but your friend who
helped you out is your family and he or she is a family that loves you and does not want your downfall. So family isn't about blood alone but bonds and being there for one another.    thanks for reading...
