Timi Dakolo Explains Why His Wife Appears In His Music Videos


Timi Dakolo has explained reasons for featuring his wife, Busola in his musical videos, and what inspires his music. The multiple Headies Award winner is one who loves featuring his wife in his music videos.
According to him, his kind of songs are too deep, citing that he could not find anybody better to express it to, other than his wife. “My kind of are deep songs, I don’t think I want to express that kind of feelings for somebody else, because it is her I was telling so I had to sing it to her”. “The reason I chose ‘Love and consequences’ for my next album is because as we all know, love has consequences. It can be good, and it can also be bad”. Opening up on what inspires his kind of music, he said “My songs come through different ways, it could be through love, heartbreak, be it inspiration or motivation. Arsenal’s Commemorative Post Provokes Fans Backlash On Social Media

Arsenal fans are currently venting their anger at the club’s social media post celebrating a decade at the Emirates stadium.
Arsenal left Highbury for the Emirates in 2006 with hopes of continued success after winning several major trophies at the former ground but to their utmost dismay, the gunners have only won two FA trophies in a decade with plenty of disappointing results to remember.
The Emirates Stadium project had initially hampered the club’s progress in making major transfer and even sold key players to rival club due to cash issues. Notable stars such as Hleb, Mathieu Flamini, Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas, Emmanuel Adebayor and Van Persie much to the disappointment of the Red and white fans.

Lassa Fever Kills Medical Doctor, Others In Anambra

Anambra state Director of Public Health, Dr. Emmanuel Okafor, has confirmed the death of a medical doctor and two others as a result of Lassa fever. The director made this confirmation during the report at one-day workshop on Lassa fever organised by the ministry to sensitise health professionals in the state on the disease in Awka. Dousing the probable tension likely to follow such report, he said that the outbreak was not yet in an epidemic proportion in the state. Okafor explained that the training was meant to fully empower health worker at grass root level. “In Anambra we don’t know the number of cases of the disease but we have three confirmed deaths,’’ he said. He urged health workers to be ethical in the delivery of their responsibility in handling Lassa fever cases, adding that the state government had put in place proactive measures to handle the scourge. Speaking earlier, Dr Jane Ezeonu, a resource person at the workshop, communicated the death of the doctor and the two other persons. He said that the medical doctor died three days ago at the Nnamdi Azikiwe General Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi. She also maintained that the late medical doctor was referred to NAUTH from Asaba, Delta state. Ezeonu stressed the need for adequate prevention mechanism to be taken on the issue. Dr. Ezeonu cautioned citizens on drinking raw garri (cassava flour) and called on them to embrace general hygiene. Thanks for reading.

Nigeria International Signs Two-year deal with Manchester city


Nigeria International Kelechi Iheanacho has signed a new two- year deal contract extension with Manchester City. Iheanacho who joined City in 2014 has gone on to be one of the club’s best forwards, scoring 14 goals in all competitions last season making him the second-best scorer for the Citizens.
Expressing his delight at the new deal, Iheanacho said: I can’t express how I’m feeling! I’m very happy to sign my new deal for this Club, I’m excited. I just need to keep working hard and express my feelings on the pitch, and work really well and do great things for the team. I’m happy and I appreciate everything the Club has done for me so far at this point so I really need to help and work for them as well.” Manager Pep Guardiola added: “Kelechi is a natural goal-scorer. I knew about him before, but I’ve been really impressed with him since I arrived. We Feel Your Pain, Osinbajo Tells Nigerians


Following the present economic hardship confronting the country, vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari feels the cries of Nigerians. He said that the current state of the economy was as result of unrestrained abuse of the nation’s wealth by past administrations. Osinbajo said this during a conference organised by the South-West wing of the All Progressives Congress in Ibadan, The Vice President, who was represented by Senator Babafemi Ojudu at the occasion, said that: “When we took over the reins of governance, we knew that things were bad. What we did not realise, however, was just how bad they really were. Now we know better. The current pains and sufferings that our people are feeling today are the results of yesterday’s mismanagement of the commonwealth of our great country. “President Buhari is only too aware of the economic hardship that our people are facing. He feels the pains that you feel, and he has asked me to reassure you that a glorious dawn awaits you. As you all may well know, the darkest part of the night is the period before dawn. Nigeria’s dawn is about to break. We are determined to turn things around, so that, once more, our people will begin to feel real impact of government in their lives.” The highlight of the APC South-West Conference was the consensus agreement that the geopolitical zone must be more involved in the running of government at the federal level. The conference lecture, which had the theme, ‘The South-West and the challenges of change in Nigeria’, which was delivered by Prof. Ropo Sekoni, had it summation as a mandate for the successful enthronement of true political and fiscal federalism with each geopolitical zone exploiting its resources for maximum development was signed by chairman Henry Ajomale.

WORRISOME: Lagos Ranks World’s 3rd Worst City To Live In


The city of Lagos has been placed 138th out of the 140 cities ranked in the latest liveability survey, just above war-ravaged Tripoli and Damascus, the Economist Intelligence Unit latest report stated. By implication, Lagos is the third worst city to live, maintaining its position at the lowest rungs of the Global Liveability index. The report said; “Of the poorer-scoring cities, 13 continue to occupy the very bottom tier of liveability, where ratings fall below 50 percent and most aspects of living are severely restricted. “Continued threats from groups like Boko Haram acts as a constraint to improving stability in Lagos,’’ the report stated. Escalations in hostilities in Libya prompted a sharp decline in liveability in Tripoli, according to the report, while Damascus, although seeing a stabilisation in its decline, remained rooted to the bottom. The top five best countries to live in, according to the report, remain unchanged from last year and they include Melbourne, Australian; Vienna, Austria; Vancouver, Canada; Toronto, Canada; and Calgary, Canada. The liveability survey assesses which locations around the world provide the best or the worst living conditions across five broad categories, including stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure. Lagos scored highest in culture and environment, followed by infrastructure. It scored lowest in stability. Three other African cities joined Lagos at the bottom rung of the liveable cities, including Douala, Cameroon; Harare, Zimbabwe; and Algiers, Algeria; ranking 132nd, 133rd, and 134th respectively. No African city made it to the top 10 most liveable cities.
However, Several other global reports had also said that Lagos, with a population of over 22 million, would in the next few years, become the 4th mega city in the world, with a population of over 30 million.
