Aliens invade OAU run for your lives

Wonders never end around here! Is it just me or is this an entirely different level of crazy on OAU campus?! Please, help me. So, I was on my way to my room from one seemingly-eternal and excruciatingly boring lecture, (Yes, its bad like that) I got to Moremi junction, and boom! Men in blue walking to and fro the zebra crossing. I looked around to see exactly what they were advertising but no bus, no posters, no banner! What is wrong with this people…?! Since then, I have seen them everywhere sha. Some guys, wearing black all through, with their hands and faces painted in blue paint, walking in slow motion. Same age and height, same dressing, long strides and fixed gazes. Truth is, if its your first time, its nothing short of creepy. The other day I was in a bus and one of them kept staring at me, as in, you certainly dont want to see these people at night.  The thing is, no one seems to know who these guys are or what they are roaming our streets for. What connects them or what goal they plan to achieve. I have poked my nose everywhere and even  I’m not so clear on this one. One theory prevails though, it’s OAU’s second semester, the season of elections on campus and i strongly believe that this is a campaign stunt by one of the candidates. When I eventually find out who is behind this, I will give kudos to his or her campaign manager largely because, it has been fun having the ‘blue guys’ around. We even have nicknames for them now: “blue aliens”, “men in blue” and so on.  I feel for those guys though, all that paint! All that time, walking like dummies on the road, under the blazing sun!! I hope they are being paid o. If not, guys, why sacrifice your life for one persons political ambition… *coughs* is that life? *dodges blows* Anyhow, that’s all! Off to minding my own business! Man Kills 14 Members Of His Family With Knife

A 35-year-old man allegedly murdered 14 members of his family including seven children with a butcher’s knife before committing suicide outside India’s financial capital of Mumbai, police said Sunday.
The attack happened after family members gathered late on Saturday at one of their homes in Thane, some 32 kilometres (20 miles) from Mumbai, for a family function, police said.
“The attacker, Hasnin Anwar Warekar, hung himself after slitting the throats of all other family members including his parents,” a Thane police spokesman, Gajanan Laxman Kabdule, told AFP.
The sole survivor of the attack, Warekar’s sister, was taken to hospital after neighbours heard her screaming for help after midnight and alerted police.
“We still haven’t been able to speak with the attacker’s 21-year-old sister, the lone survivor of the attack, who is in deep trauma at a city hospital,” Kabdule said.
Warekar attacked his family after apparently lacing their food with a sedative, according to several local media reports.
But the Indian Express newspaper said the chartered accountant stabbed his victims after they went to bed, having all decided to spend the night at the house.
“Prima facie evidence suggests that the accused bolted all the doors of the house and murdered his family while they were asleep with a knife that we found near his body,” Ashutosh Dumbre, joint commissioner of Thane police, was quoted saying.
Kabdule said he could not confirm whether the victims had been sedated, saying investigators were awaiting medical test results.
Television footage showed men lifting bodies wrapped in sheets in to the back of an ambulance, as crowds gathered outside the white-walled home.
Kabdule said details of the attack “are still sketchy” along with the motive.
According to the Press Trust of India news agency, a property dispute was behind the killings, but Dumbre said initial investigations have so far found no trigger for such an “extreme step”.
“In our inquiry so far, no one has yet been able to give the reason for this,” Dumbre told the ABP news channel.
“He worked with a private company in Mumbai. There were no known financial troubles or disputes and now we are hoping that the lone survivor can tell us something about the trigger,” he said. Thanks for reading

Saudi Arabia Records 64th Execution After Beheading Kidnapper

A Saudi who kidnapped and tried to rape his employer was put to death Tuesday in the kingdom’s 64th execution of the year, AFP reports. Mufrih bin Ahmed Khamis worked as the victim’s driver, the interior ministry said in a statement. A court found that he consumed alcohol before abducting her and her baby, “taking advantage of the fact that he drove her to the school where she worked,” it said. “He beat her, handcuffed her and placed tape over her mouth. He then drove her to an isolated location and tried to rape her.” After stealing her money and telephone, Khamis abandoned the woman and child, the ministry added. After his trial and conviction, Khamis was executed in the southwestern city of Abha. Most people sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia are beheaded with a sword. The kingdom executed 47 people in a single day on January 2 on “terrorism” charges. saudi-arabia-beheadings-rightsIn 2015, Saudi Arabia executed 153 people, mostly for drug trafficking or murder, according to an AFP count. Amnesty International says the number of executions in Saudi Arabia last year was the highest for two decades. However, the tally was far behind those of China and Iran. The kingdom has a strict Islamic legal code under which murder, drug trafficking, armed robbery, rape and apostasy are all punishable by death. It is the only country in the world that bans women from driving, forcing them to rely on male relatives or hired drivers. Thanks for reading

President Mohammadu Buhari has said he would not pay the N5000 he promised to pay the unemployed youth in the country

President Mohammadu Buhari has said he would not pay the N5000 stipend he promised to unemployed youth in the country.
The president made the remarks at the weekend while on the visit in Middle East.
It will be recalled that All Progressives Congress, APC had during its campaign supported the promise of paying N5,000 as monthly stipend to the most vulnerable in the country.
But in a shocking u-turn, Buhari said it was wise to use the funds to put up infrastructures and empower the youth through agriculture than to give out monies.
He said: “This largesse N5,000 for the unemployed, I have got a slightly different priority. I would rather do the infrastructure, the school and correct them and empower agriculture, mining so that every able bodied person can go and get work instead of giving 5,000, N5,000 to those who don’t work.”
